Murmuration - A series of wall installations inspired by birds in flight.

Four site-specific, powder-coated aluminium wall installations were commissioned by Conran Partners + D&D London for the new Duke Restaurant in Istanbul. For this commission, a series of four ‘Murmurations” were created, culminating in flocks of over 1000 bird-like forms ‘in flight’ migrating from the entrance lobby through the restaurant to the terrace outside. Created from laser cut aluminium, each ‘bird’ was folded by hand, then powder-coated in colours inspired by British magpies. The aluminium ‘birds’ were then installed in various flight patterns to imply migration and movement through the exterior and interior dining areas.
