Working with anything from tissue paper to broken glass, Elaine is curious about the emotions and sensations that seemingly mundane materials and objects provoke. She is  motivated by their shifting possibilities and the potential of revealing something new and meaningful within them. By physically assembling, manipulating and reworking them, she re-charges materials that simmer in the background of our everyday to discover new sculptural forms that challenge our understanding of the familiar and our responses to the ‘strange’.
