Roost was commissioned by Einar Mattsson + Young Art for Mattsson’s new development of luxury appartments in Haga Nova, Stockholm. Inspired by the idea of 'coming home', Roost offered four site-specific, permanent wall sculptures - one for the entrance hall of each building. The four sculptures drew on the characteristic colours of particular birds: flamingoes, peacocks, birds of paradise and Victoria crowned pigeons. These abstract 'bird' forms, which perch on a set of large overlapping copper rings, were made from a range of materials including Jesmonite, powder-coated aluminium, resin and porcelain stoneware.
